11/15/18 – Applications due for APYLP Conference

Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Conference – The annual Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Project (APYLP) conference provides a select group of 50 Asian and Pacific Islander seniors and juniors from public, private and charter high schools throughout California with a unique opportunity to gain first -hand knowledge of the legislative process, community leadership, and political activism. The conference dates are 4/11/19 – 4/15/19 in Sacramento and the program is free. Applications are due 11/15/18. For more information and to apply: http://www.apylp.net/hs-conference/

Hackathon By the Sea – ·is a 21 hour overnight event, in which teams “hack” together to engage in collaborative computer programming and create awesome projects that make tomorrow better. The event is run by VCOE and is an amazing event that provides experiences and skills taught by and organized by skilled professionals. ASVAB Testing – The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) – The ASVAB is a timed multi-aptitude test that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success. You don’t have to be planning to go into the military to take the test. If you are in grades 10-12 and are interested in taking the test, please sign up in the College and Career Center. SAT Comprehensive Prep Sessions – RCHS is working with Tried and True Tutoring to help students prepare for the SAT. The comprehensive class is a rigorous, detailed review of critical content and strategies designed to fully prepare students for success on the SAT exam. The class features: 17 hours of classroom instruction, 2 full-length practice tests, and books and materials.
