College Applications Bootcamps

 

What is Bootcamp?Now in its tenth year, Bootcamp consists of eight intensive 3-hour sessions taught by College Applications Educator, Cecilia E. Johnston. These sessions cover all aspects of the college application process, including organization, college choice strategies, college and scholarship applications, essay guidance and review, college admissions offers and financial aid. The sessions will occur in April and May of your Junior year and approximately once a month starting August of your Senior year. The sessions are timed to coincide with various application deadlines related to colleges, financial aid, scholarships, etc.

Sophomore/Junior College Applications Jumpstart
Our most popular one-day workshop!  We will spend 3 hours focusing on the steps high school Sophomores (Class of 2021), Juniors (Class of 2020), and their families can take NOW to jumpstart the College Applications process; to get on track and most importantly, to stay on track. Topics include:
  •     When to take the ACT/SAT (and which to take)
  •     How to build your college resume
  •     How important is Community Service?
  •     Internships vs. Jobs vs. Life Experience
  •     Choosing the right classes in high school
  •     College Choice strategies
  •     Public vs. Private
  •     2 yr. vs 4 yr.
  •     What if my GPA/Test Scores aren’t that good?
  •     Financial Aid Basics
  •     Organization
